Special Events


The Library will be hosting a Teddy Bear Sleepover on Tuesday, September 16th! Come by the library and drop off your (second) favorite stuffed animal to stay the night in the library! Come for a special Goodnight Teddy Bear Storytime at 5:00pm or drop off your stuffed animal anytime that day! Come back and see all the photos of our teddy bear sleepover the next day when you pick up your animal!

Do you need a wet basement consultant? Such a thing does exist! There will be a homeowner's workshop on "Drying Up YOur Home's Wet Basement" at the library on Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00pm!

Events for Kids

NEW!!! Baby Rhyme Time! A special language development storytime for parents and their babies, ages from birth to walking, starts Saturday, September 27th at 10:30am-11:15am.

Storytime for kids 10 and under will start again starting on Tuesday, September 23rd from 5-6:00pm and will continue through the school year every Tuesday evening from 5-6:00pm and every Thursday from 6-7:00pm.

LEGO NIGHTS! Kids can come to the library EVERY Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:00pm and develop their mechanical engineering skills by building! For kids 10 and under, some LEGO duplos and blocks will be made available for younger children.

An Inkster Family Literacy Movement representative will be hosting "Once Upon a Storytime in Inkster" for children 5 and under Every Monday from 2-3:30pm this summer!Come enjoy some open play with other children, hear a story and get a snack!


Events for Teens


The Teen Book Club will meet on Tuesday, September 24th at 6:00pm to discuss the book "The Graveyard Book" by Neil Gaiman. PIZZA WILL BE SERVED!!! Ask for a copy at the library's circulation desk!

NEW! The Leanna Hicks Inkster Public Library now has a friends group! If you are interested in helping make the library a better place come to the Library Friends group meeting on September 13th at 2:00pm

The Senior Brigade will give a presentation on Phone and Mail scams on September 15th at 6:00pm

The Knitting and Crochet Group will continue every fourth Monday of the month! This month it will be meeting on September 29th at 6:00pm. Bring your own supplies and needles, but someone will be there to teach you how!

Adult Computer Classes are now being offered at the library! Join us on Wednesday,August 27th from 1-3:00pm

Book Club for Adults: The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 9th at 6:15pm. Copies of the next book "Carnal Curiosity" available at the library.

Coffee Hour with the State Representative and County Commissioner, EVERY First Monday of the month at 12:30pm.

Library Board Meetings Every Third Thursday of the month at 4:00pm and are open to the public.
