Special Events

Events for Kids

LEGO NIGHTS! Kids can come to the library every Tuesday from 4:30-5:30pm and develop their mechanical engineering skills by building! For kids 10 and under, some LEGO duplos and blocks will be made available for younger children.

Storytime for kids 10 and under will be held most Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30

Children 8 through 12 are invited to join the Reading Robots Young Reader's Club. Our next meeting is will take place Thursday, September 24th 5:00pm to 6:00pm! We will be discussing the book Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein.

Join us for a local author visit! The author Christine Tricarico is coming to the Inkster Public Library Tuesday, September 8th 2015 starting At 6:00pm . She's going to read her picture book "Cock-A-Doodle Dance" and shows everyone how to do the dance from the book. The first 20 families that come to the event will get a free copy of the book.

Can't get enough of Disney? Then join us for Disney Day, an event filled with fun movies and crafts. Our next meeting will on Tuesday, September 29th 5:30pm to 7:30pm where we will have fun with Disney's "Princess and the Frog".

Events for Teens

Love watching anime or reading manga? Then Join us for the Teen Anime / Manga Club Saturday, September 19th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Events for The Family

Please join us for "Body Works" a healthy and fun program that will teach you and your family healthy habits that you can use every day! It will take place on Wednesdays 3:00pm to 5:00pm from July 22nd through September 2nd.

Join us for "Game Night" Thursday, September 10th from 5:00pm to 6:30pm!!! It'll be lots of fun for everyone with a variety of board-games and card-games. It's also the perfect chance to sign up for a library card as Inkster Family Literacy Movement will be giving out a book to everyone that signs up for a library card during that time.

Saturday, September 12th from 10:30am to 12:00pm is another great opportunity to get a library card as Inkster Family Literacy Movement will be returning to give out a book to everyone who signs up for a library card during that time. Stay for some fun at 12:00pm as we show the movie "Snoopy Come Home".

Join us Saturday, September 26th as we celebrate Leanna Hicks 55th Anniversary.

Events for Adults

If you want to learn more about tablets or e-readers come to the Tablet Tutoring on Tuesday September 17th starting at 1:30pm. We will do one on one half an hour sessions to help you learn the basics of tablets or e-readers. Space is limited so registration is required and may be done by calling the library at (313) 563-2822.

Coffee Hour with the State Representative and County Commissioner, every second monday of the month starting at 1:00pm.

Library Board Meetings Every Third Thursday of the month at 4:00pm and are open to the public.
